Vaila sends one kind of text message — a verification code for your own number, only when you ask for it. Invites you send to other people go from your phone, not from us.
The only text Vaila sends
Vaila sends exactly one kind of text message: a one-time verification code, to your own phone number, at the moment you ask us to verify it. That is the entire messaging program. We send no marketing texts, no promotional texts, and no automated or recurring messages of any kind.
Vaila does not text your invitees
When you invite someone to a plan by phone number, Vaila does not send them a message. Your device opens your own messaging app with the invite link filled in, and you send it yourself from your own number — the same as texting a friend directly. Nothing is sent unless you tap send, and we never message a number on your behalf.
How you opt in
You opt in by entering your own phone number in Vaila and choosing to verify it. Requesting the code is the consent, and it applies only to you and only to that number. Nobody else can enter your number to make us text you, and we never message numbers we obtained any other way — we do not buy, rent, or scrape phone numbers.
How often you'll hear from us
Only when you ask. Verification is not recurring or scheduled: one code per verification you request, and none at any other time. Most people verify once and never receive another text from us.
Stopping messages
Because codes are only ever sent in response to your own request, not requesting verification means not receiving any texts. You can also reply STOP to a verification message; our messaging provider honors that opt-out at the network level and will block further messages to your number. Costs and carriers
Vaila does not charge you to receive a verification code, but your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number and your privacy
A verified number becomes part of your account identity: it is what lets someone who invites you by phone reach you inside Vaila instead of texting you a link. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy (https://www.vailaapp.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (https://www.vailaapp.com/terms). We never sell phone numbers or share them for advertising.
